Al Forsan shoot- Abu Dhabi

Well, we are back from Abu Dhabi! The trip was a great success and great adventure. How much fun was it working with the new crew and new friends - Sarah, Hollie and Jim! We spent 10 days shooting at an extreme sports complex called Al Forsan - Off Roading, Wake Boarding, Paint Balling, Polo ( the horses were so cute I wanted to take them home!), horses in the desert, and even saw some camels and got to pet a pet cheetah. Yes a pet Cheetah! here are some outtakes from the shoot - you will be able to check out some of our faves online at the website soon! www.paigebirnie.com

Khao Lak, Thailand

In 2005 I spent 3 months in Khao Lak, Thailand teaching photography to the local children who were severely effected by the asian tsunami of 2004. I couldn't wait to go back and visit the kids again! It has been 4 years on now and the kids are healthy and happy. I have given them my Nikon for the day and as you can see they still love photography!

Verve Girl Magazine article - Buenos Aries, Argentina

Here we are traveling through Argentina.

In Buenos Aries over 1.5 million children are forced to work to survive. They flood the city at night pushing carts, collecting garbage they can sell to recycling centers. They are called the Cartoneros. These children are not afforded the basic right to education, food and shelter. They are forced to do what they can to make money for their families in order to survive. The children depicted in this photo were juggling in front of cars for money.
